Mary F. Cannon Collection
Mary F. Cannon (1921-2012) of Chicago, Illinois, was stationed in Korea while a member of the Army Nurse Corps from 1951 to 1953 and in Vietnam during her service with the Navy Nurse Corps from 1958 to 1974.
This collection includes April 2008 oral history interview transcript available for use onsite in the archives, copies of photographs.

Kate Carnahan Letters
Kate Carnahan was a young, newly-married woman living in Covington, Indiana in the 1840s. This collection dates from 1848 to 1849 and includes eleven letters to Carnahan's mother covering such topics of daily life as the personalities of other local women, her wardrobe, social engagements, illnesses, and the inconveniences of life in a small town in the West.

Fred Chappell was born in Canton, North Carolina in 1936. He earned both his Bachelor of Arts in 1961 and his Masters of Arts in 1964 from Duke University, North Carolina. In 1985, he won the Bollingen Prize in poetry.
Amy Marie Charles Papers
Amy Marie Charles was a professor of English literature at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 1956 until 1984. In addition, she authored a biography of the seventeenth-century English poet George Herbert (Cornell University Press, 1977). This collection consists of documentary material collected by Dr. Charles for her study of Herbert's life.

Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Records
The Department of Chemistry began in the early 1900s and changed its name in 1999 to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Today the Department is responsible for the undergraduate and graduate curriculum in chemistry and biochemistry.

Department of Classical Studies Records
The Department of Classical Studies has undergone several name changes since it was first established as the Department of Ancient and Modern Languages in 1892. In 1935 it changed names to the Department of Classical Civilization and later in 1986 became the Department of Classical Studies. Its mission is to serve the educational interests of undergraduate and master's level students by preserving, transmitting and interpreting the achievements of the Classical World.
